Tres Leches Con Coco
In our Spanish class we were given the task of creating a cooking video using commands we learned. Me and my partner decided to make Tres Leches con coco. This is a cake soaked in heavy whipping cream, condensed milk, and cream of coconut. After the cake is soaked in these things we put different fruits on top of it. While we completed each step we filmed ourselves doing it. After we filmed all of our step we edit our videos to create a cooking filming with music and text telling the ingredients.

Our Recipe:
Etapa Uno. Precalienta el horno a 350 grados. Etapa dos. Bate huevos con un bateador eléctrico hasta que esté espumoso Etapa tres. Añade azúcar por cinco minutos o hasta que esté grueso Etapa cuatro. Añade y bate agua y vainilla Etapa cinco. incorpora la harina, levadura en polvo, y sal. Bate hasta que esté liso. Etapa seis. Vierte la masa en una sartén y pon en el horno por veinte a veinte y cinco minutos. Etapa siete. Mientras cocina la masa, integra catorce onzas de leche condensada, una taza de crema dulce, una mitad taza de crema de coco, una cucharada de vainilla, y refrigera hasta que necesitas. Etapa ocho. Pon agujeros en el pastel con un tenedor y vierte salsa encima del pastel. Etapa nueva. Cubre y refrigera por dos horas. Etapa diez. Mientras el pastel refria, integra crema dulce y azucar pulverizado con bateador electrico hasta que cimas suave forman. Final Etapa. Pon crema dulce y frutas encima del pastel y sirve. |
Mi Frida

Frida Kahlo was a famous painter. She painted many self portraits, but did other paintings as well such as the painting my piece was inspired by, "Girl with a Death Mask". Frida's original piece of this painting is the image on the right. Her work is inspired by Mexican culture, and explores questions concerning gender, class, identity, and more. As a kid Frida suffered a disablement from polio. Once she was a bit older she got in an accident and had a pole go through her pelvis. She had medical problems the rest of her life after this. She married Diego Rivera, divorced, and then remarried him.
For this project we picked a person that we wanted to write about and put them into a Frida painting. I picked one of my close friends,Haley, and wrote about her life for my biography and once it was complete and I had revised it I began to plan my artwork. I picked a piece of Frida's work I liked and started to create my own. I recreated changing details about the original piece such as the mountains into a city, and the monster mask to a horse. I picked Haley because she is a good friend of mine and I knew I could write about her.
I was happy with my final piece. I do not think I would want to change my art pice because it turned out well, and I thought it was beautiful work that represented my skill. However, if I were to change something in this project I would take more time on my biography to explain her life better and show more of my skill and knowledge about Spanish.

Haley in Frida Form
La vida de Haley empezó el 28 de diciembre en 2000. Ella nació en Tennessee. Ella vivió en Tennessee por toda su vida. Haley tiene pelo castaño. Ella tiene ojos azules. Ella es alta. Sus padres se llaman Melissa y Jason. Sus padres son altos tambien. Su hermanita se llama Samantha. Samantha es muy ruidosa. Haley tiene muchos mascotas. Ella tiene dos perros y cinco gatos. Sus perros se llaman Chip y Max. Chip y Max son pequeños. Sus gatos se llaman Hazel, Chai, Starbucks, Marble, Chino. A Haley le encanta los caballos mucho. Ella va al granjero muchos días de la semana. Ella pasa mucho tiempo con caballos. Los caballos son de muchos colores. Ella monta y brinca caballos. Ella está en segundo año de liceo. Haley y yo fuimos juntos a la secundaria cuando teníamos 12-14 años. Teníamos muchos amigas similares. Se llaman Caroline, Madelyn, Julian, Carly, Natalie, y Samantha. Caroline tiene ojos azules y pelo rubio. Caroline es simpática. Madelyn tiene ojos cafés y pelo castaño. Madelyn es cariñosa. Julian tiene ojos verdes y pelo rubio. Julian es alegre. Carly tiene ojos cafés y pelo rubio. Carly es energética. Natalie tiene ojos cafés y pelo castaño. Natalie es simpática también. Samantha tiene ojos cafés y pelirrojo. Samantha es energética también. En secundaria se estuvimos en un clase de teatro por tres años. La maestra de clase de teatro era Señora Wieland. Señora Wieland tiene ojos verdes y pelo castaño. Ella era una muy buena maestra. Haley es importante porque ella es una muy muy fantástica amiga a mí. Encontramos en 2012 y estamos todavía amigas hoy. Mi hermana vive con Haley porque yo y mis padres nos trasladamos a Colorado. Haley es una persona muy divertida, interesante, y cómica. Es divertido cuando vamos a visitarla ahora Haley está en sus semanas finales de su segundo año de liceo y ya está montando caballos casi todos los dias de la semana.

Calavera
Calaveras are a traditional literary pieces included at Dia de los Muertos. This is because they celebrate and give remembrance to the dead. Jose Guadalupe Posada was a man who made many calaveras. He created engravings and political cartoons, and he was one of the artists that best interpreted life and attitudes of Mexican people. On day of the dead he would make these cartoons with skeletons doing things people would do in their lifetime. These artworks were meant to be humorous, but he was thrown in jail on several occasions. Although, he did have some admirers and his recognition came after his death and now his artwork is displayed.
My Calaveras was about Eeyore, and how he used to always be sad. Once he became a skeleton he wasn't as sad anymore because he did not have to find his tail anymore and the rain cloud that used to hover over him didn't bother him because he no longer got wet. I believe that on this project I did pretty good mainly on the art and presentation part, though. I could have added more detail and a wider variety of vocabulary into my writing.
